Fixes the talk key going quiet after an update, and explains when there's no mic to hear you.
Fixes
The talk key works after updates. On some Macs, Eloksen stopped noticing your key after an update until Accessibility was switched off and on. It now keeps working through updates.
No mic, clear message. With the lid closed and no mic connected, the pill now says so instead of quietly recording nothing.
Murmur has a new name, the pill has a face, and Eloksen is now signed and checked by Apple, so it opens without any warnings.
New
A new name. Murmur is now Eloksen. Your settings, dictionary, styles and word count all came along. Find it at eloksen.com.
The pill has a face. Pick Face under Inside in Settings → Customization. It wakes up when you start, looks around while you think, and talks along with you. Classic comes free; Happy, Cat, Robot and Cool unlock as you dictate.
Customization on one screen. Pick a shape (pill or circle), glass or solid, a color, and what lives inside. Glass can now be tinted any color, with a slider for how much.
A Liquid Glass icon. The icon is made for macOS 26, with light, dark, clear and tinted versions.
Free trial and one-time purchase. Try everything free for 7 days, then buy it once. Eloksen unlocks itself after you pay, works on 2 Macs, and never needs to check in online again.
Improvements
Signed by Apple. Eloksen is now notarized, so macOS opens it without a security warning. You may be asked to allow Accessibility once more.
Quieter shortcuts. Using your dictation key in a shortcut (like Right ⌘ + C) no longer plays the cancel sound.
Hands-free sound. Double-tapping to dictate hands-free now plays the start sound too.
Fixes
Stuck recordings. If macOS briefly paused Eloksen's key listener, letting go of the key could leave a recording running. It now notices and stops.
Blank pictures in Customization. Preview tiles no longer show up empty.
Memory. The speech model unloads after a too-short press instead of staying loaded.
More accurate dictation, all on your Mac: uses the MacBook mic when AirPods are in (clearer, and music keeps full quality), listens for your Dictionary words and for names on screen, and learns a name when you fix it. Dictionary words can now be limited to certain apps, like commands to Terminal.
You'll now see when an update is ready: a dot on the menu bar icon, an Install Update item in the menu, and a banner in Settings. After updating, the pill says so, and Settings → General shows what's new.
AirPods keep full music quality after you dictate. Simpler setup: one permission switch instead of two. New versions now show a window with what's new and an Install Update button.
Customization page with five face styles, a faster first setup (the speech model downloads right away, with progress), and updates now install themselves.
