Eloksen vs Superwhisper vs Wispr Flow
Three ways to talk instead of type on a Mac. Here's how they compare, including where the other two win.
Pay once, not every month
What the paid version costs over two years
Wispr Flow Pro is $144 a year ($15 a month). Superwhisper Pro is $84.99 a year ($8.49 a month), or $249.99 once. Eloksen is $15 once, with free updates ($9 during the launch sale, until October 30). Both others have free tiers with limits. Prices checked on their sites October 3, 2026.
Pick Wispr Flow if you want dictation on every device you own and don't mind a subscription and the cloud.
Pick Superwhisper if you like tinkering: choosing AI models, writing your own modes, recording meetings.
Pick Eloksen if you dictate on a Mac and want it to just work, stay on your Mac, look like yours, and cost less than two months of the others.

Wispr Flow
- Every platform, synced.

- Team plans with admin controls.
Superwhisper
- Pick your own AI models and prompts.
- Meetings and audio files.
- Every platform, 100+ languages.
Eloksen
- Costs less than two months of either, once.

The part nobody else does: it looks like yours
Dictation apps tend to look like utilities. In Eloksen, the little pill that listens to you is yours to design: pick a shape, glass or solid, a color, and what lives inside it. Talk more and you unlock more, up to the rare Galaxy at 100,000 words. Try designing one.

Made by one person, not a company
Hi, I'm the solo developer behind Eloksen. I built it because I wanted dictation that felt like part of my Mac, not another subscription. I write the code, answer the support email and read every bug report.
That's also why it costs what it does: no servers, no AI bills, no investors to pay back. If something's off, you're talking to the person who can fix it. Email eloksensupport@gmail.com, or use Report a Bug in the app.
Questions
Is Eloksen a good Superwhisper or Wispr Flow alternative?
If you dictate on a Mac in English and want it to work without setting anything up, yes. If you need other platforms, other languages or meeting notes, the other two cover more.
Which ones work offline?
Eloksen always runs on your Mac, so it works with no internet at all. Superwhisper works offline with its local models. Wispr Flow processes dictation in the cloud, so it needs a connection.
Can I try them all?
Yes. Eloksen is free for 7 days, and the other two have free tiers. If you install more than one, give each a different key so they don't all start listening.
Why is Eloksen so much cheaper?
Everything runs on your Mac, so there are no servers or AI bills to pass on to you. And it's one person, not a company with a payroll.
